Well, we're all moved down to Jacksonville now. Although we miss Annapolis, we are absolutely in LOVE with our new apartment! Going from a tiny studio apartment to a brand new 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment overlooking a lake would make anyone happy I suppose. During our first two weeks here, it seemed like we never stopped going (that seems to be a theme in our lives). Before our furniture even arrived, we found a 2006 F-150 for Sayre, started finding our way around the city, AND found an amazing snowball stand!! Woohoo! I actually found it online via the wonders of google... and yes, I know... looking something like that up on google is a sure sign of snowball addiction, but the first step is admitting to the problem, right? :)
Anyway, we drove down on a Saturday & our things finally arrived the following Friday. After sleeping on air mattresses in the living room for a few days we were starting to go crazy, so when our stuff arrived it was very exciting... and it came just in time! By the end of the day we had everything unpacked and in place, then the following evening my parents arrived to bring us a kitchen table (yay!) and all of our wedding gifts (double yay!). It was so great getting to spend some time with them and show them around the city (well, the parts of the city that we had explored thus-far at least :))
Sayre reported to the Halyburton on Monday and so far everything is going smoothly for him. Seeing him get up so early every morning to get to work has inspired me to get to work on updating my portfolio and website so (hopefully) I can find a job soon. My plan is to finish that up this week and then drop off my resume to some firms around here. Sayre helped me to do some research and we were happy with what we found. There seem to be a lot of firms here, and of those, seven really caught my eye. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
